The holidays are here! Why not use your new or used RV to host a Christmas party or ladies’ night with your gal pals? Here are a few quick holiday RV tips to transform the interior so that it’s truly merry and bright!
Wrap the Tables
For a quick and festive alternative to a tablecloth, use Christmas wrapping paper to top the tables, countertops, and island. Light a spicy, warm candle and swap out the hand soaps at every sink for something that makes you think of sugarplums.
Cookie Swap
Plan a cookie swap: have each guest bring 2 dozen (or so!) cookies to share. Provide holiday tins or lidded food storage containers and swap your treats. For extra fun, bake gingerbread or sugar cookies and supply icing bags and cookie toppings. Cookie decorating isn’t just for kids – it’s just as fun for adults, too!
Speaking of Decorating…
Why not have a gingerbread house decorating fest with your friends? You can easily find ready-to-assemble kits at the grocery store. They come with small packages of candy, but have each guest bright a candy to share as decorations, like gum drops, miniature candy canes, and more.
Chick Flick
What has 672 editions, 2 writers, and 1 storyline? Hallmark Christmas movies, of course! Gather up your gal pals for a fun, sappy movie night in the living room of your new or used RV. Don’t forget to kick on the fireplace!
Creamy Cocoa
One of my favorite recipes is for creamy hot cocoa. You can throw all of the ingredients in a slow cooker early in the day, let it melt together, and heat it through. For an adults-only flair, throw in a splash of amaretto per cup. It’ll taste like a chocolate covered cherry!
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 6 cups of milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For flavorful variations:
- For mint cocoa, add 1 Tbs peppermint extract to the whole mix, adding more to taste.
- For chocolate-covered-cherry cocoa, add 2 tsp of amaretto per cup.
- Garnish with whipped cream or stir with peppermint sticks, if desired.
We hope these holiday RV tips can help you host a fun Christmas party or girl’s night. Have fun!
